Saturn is the ringed planet an is instantly reconizable because of it prominent rings.

Named after the ancient Roman god of agriculture, Saturn orbits the Sun at a distance ten Astronomical Units and circles the Sun every 24 years.

The prominent ring system has complex bands of small particles composed primarily of water ice that extend from 7,000 to 80,000 km above the surface. They are very thin (less than 1km) and are shaped by the moons.

Has many moon, including Titan, the largest moon in the solar system.

The Cassini spacecraft has been orbiting Saturn for 10 years and has helped us understand this complex system.
