We want to thank you for joining us at the 2010 meeting of the North Central Region of the
Astronomical League (NCRAL). NCRAL 2010 was be held on April 16-17, 2010 in
Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.
The 2010 event was hosted by the
Twin City Amateur Astronomers, celebrating the 50th
anniversary of the founding of their club.
The theme of the meeting was
Generations: Past, Present and Future of the Telescope
We looked at the beginnings and evolution of telescopes discussing
the people and their scientific instruments that have expanded our understanding of the universe.
We tried to give you a peek at the future of modern astronomy by looking at current
and planned developments in space science.
The unique resources offered by our location offered a surprising variety of activities.
Our local Challenger Center generously offered to run missions for our meeting that
challenged and enlightened you to the complexities of space exploration.
Thanks for joining us as we celebrated, in the "other Twin Cities," the 50th anniversary of our amateur
astronomy club, the Twin City Amateur Astronomers.
Thanks for joining us as we presented an event to celebrate who we are, to share our love of astronomy and its related sciences,
to spend some time reflecting on where we are, how we got here and the meaning we can give to all the wonderous
things we are learning about the universe around us.
Thanks for joining us to celebrate NCRAL 2010!
