Indus is a small southern constellation that lies south of Microscopium and southwest of Grus. Indus was introduced by Johann Bayer and represents the American Indian. The constellation is often picture as an Indian with a full headdress, although a standing Indian with arrows in each hand are also imagined. There is no mythology associated with Indus and none of the stars are named.
